Where do Wheelblades come from?
On his way to becoming a professional snowboarder, an accident resulting in incomplete paraplegia ended Patrick Mayer’s career. But he was undaunted by that turn of fate and founded NICON-TEC Ltd. – a young and innovative company dedicated to significantly improving the mobility of people with a walking disability.
Together with expert partners from Switzerland and Germany, NICON-TEC Ltd. develops and produces products for people with disabilities, enabling them to experience mobility, freedom and joy even off the beaten track.
How Do They Work?
The Technical Bit
Mature Technology:
Patented binding with universal adjustment possibilities for wheel diameters from 8 - 20 cm and wheel widths from 2.0 - 6.5 cm.
Durability:
Stainless steel offers protection against corrosion in wet and salt conditions.
Solid Construction:
Glass fibre reinforced plastic parts provide maximum strength even at low temperatures.
Secure Hold:
Channels on the underside of the tread provide stability and directional stability while driving. If required, the running surface can be reordered as a spare part.

With the patented quick-release mechanism, you can switch from wheels to runners with ease in just seconds. The broad contact surface of the Wheelblades optimally distributes the weight on the ground, thus preventing the small front wheels from sinking into the snow. The runners move along the ground with very little friction, and even larger irregularities in the terrain can be easily navigated.
