Spokz People provides services for people with physical disabilities, their partners and health professionals

Spokz People is the not-for-profit arm of Spokz and is part of Enhance the UK, charity registration number 1131749

We aim to empower people, enhancing their lives, relationships, mental and sexual wellbeing

We believe that disability experience is essential in providing disability services and are proactive in employing qualified disabled staff

We support the social model of disability which looks beyond a person’s impairment at all the relevant factors that affect their ability to be a full and equal participant in society.

We recognise that many problems faced by people with disabilities do not result from their impairments, but by the fact that society is predominantly set-up for non-disabled people.

Spokz People is breaking the mould by not only providing physically accessible services, but our knowledge and experience of disability means we understand the possible issues relating to disability and are flexible in catering for different needs. Research indicates that many people with disabilities have negative experiences with non-specialist health professionals and therapists resulting in clients feeling uncomfortable, patronised, incomplete or misunderstood. Spokz People was established in response to this research.
